Loe Shimmy's Zombieland Takes Over Miramar This Halloween
Halloween in South Florida just got a whole lot louder. Miami's own Loe Shimmy is throwing a hometown Halloween celebration called "Zombieland" at the Miramar Amphitheater, and he's bringing some of hip hop's biggest names with him for the night.
The lineup alone tells you this is not a regular show. Joining the South Florida rapper on stage will be Texas hitmaker BigXthaPlug, the unapologetic Sexyy Red, and New Orleans' own Rob49. Four artists, four different corners of modern rap, one haunted stage in Miramar.

Zombieland is being built as a full Halloween experience, not just a lineup of performances. Alongside the music, attendees can expect a Zombie Invasion, an interactive haunted house, and a costume contest running through the night. Costumes plus live sets from Loe Shimmy, BigXthaPlug, Sexyy Red, and Rob49 — this is shaping up to be the South Florida Halloween event for hip hop fans.
For Loe Shimmy, this show is a victory lap in front of the crowd that raised him. The rapper built his name the independent way — starting on SoundCloud, grinding outside the traditional industry machine, and earning every stream. That catalog has now passed two billion streams worldwide, and he recently wrapped his first sold-out multi-city North American tour.
The connections run deep, too. Sexyy Red appeared on Loe Shimmy's acclaimed project Pretty Girlz Run The World, and his collaboration with Rob49, "I Need Us," has pulled in over 20 million streams worldwide. His run of high-profile collabs — Brent Faiyaz's "For Me," which earned him his first Billboard Hot 100 entry, Don Toliver's gold-certified "3AM," and Drake's "I'm Spent" with 45 million-plus streams — shows an artist who built with his day-ones and leveled up with the biggest names in the game.
That's exactly the kind of story Dagr8fm lives for. As the home of independent artists, we cover the grind — not just the glory.
Friday, October 16 is a packed New Music Friday across the genre. Gucci Mane dropped his new 17-track album Against All Odds, featuring Summer Walker on "Last Night In ATL," OJ da Juiceman, and Ice Davis — a return to his core Atlanta trap sound. Fredo Bang delivered Laugh Now Cry Later, with guest spots from BigXthaPlug and BC Jay. A$AP Rocky is back with "Shroom Clouds," LUCKI gave fans the archival project Last Laugh, and Z-Ro, Tinie Tempah, and Killah Priest all added to the stack. On the R&B side, Lucky Daye's ALOUD! — his first full album of the Warner Records era — leads the day's releases.
If any of these new drops belong in the Dagr8fm rotation, you'll hear them soon — we keep new music current around the clock.
This announcement lands alongside a stacked weekend of music in South Florida. The III Points festival takes over Mana Wynwood this same weekend with over 150 artists, and Florida rapper Hurricane Wisdom headlines MIDLINE Miami on Friday night. Add Zombieland in Miramar, and Miami hip hop fans have no shortage of ways to spend Halloween weekend.
If you're a South Florida artist throwing your own events or dropping music this season, Dagr8fm wants to hear from you. We play independent artists from Miami and around the world every single day.
